As the president and owner of ATS, Mike Schwartz's goal is to make each and every tradeshow a rousing success for his clients. A graduate of the University of New Orleans, Mike has dedicated himself to offering the most cutting edge technology and best customer service in the tradeshow industry since he founded ATS in 1996. His B.S. in Geology combined with eight years working as an Environmental Consultant has made him a big proponent of using sustainable materials and green technologies in ATS products and services. Mike personally attends over 20 tradeshows a year, mingling with clients to find out how ATS can make their lives easier. When not traveling, you can find him at home in Louisiana enjoying the great outdoors with his wife and two boys, Jack and Pete, or on the tennis court channeling Roger Federer.

General Manager and Vice President Pete Schulz’s favorite saying is, “you have two ears and one mouth, so use them proportionately.” Good news for ATS clients. Understanding each tradeshow is unique, Pete listens carefully, gleaning each client’s objectives so he can customize a package of products and services that fit their specific needs. An LSU alum, during football season he wears both his heart, and the purple and gold on his sleeve. When not traveling to catch up with clients at tradeshows across the country he is back home in Louisiana with his wife and three children. Except, of course, for Wednesday evenings, when you will find him on the basketball court perfecting his three-pointer.

Karen LeBlanc, Accounting Director/Office Manager, is one multi-talented tradeshow professional. Karen has been working in the convention business since 1996, and has had experience in all aspects of event management, from Registration, Financial Reporting/Budgeting, Education Session planning, Graphic design of print materials, and dealing with hotels and outside vendors. Here are ATS, not only does Karen handle the financial aspects of our company, she also uses her graphic design skills to assist show managers with marketing designs and materials. Karen graduated from the University of New Orleans with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. When not in the office, Karen enjoys spending time with her husband, Keith, and her three dachshunds. Karen loves to sew and do embroidery as well as cook and bake, a quality her fellow ATS team members appreciate, too. You can also hear Karen rooting for the LSU Tigers, New Orleans Saints, and Texas Rangers year round.

She brings a strong work ethic to ATS and is eager to learn. She has knowledge of marketing, particularly social media marketing, and computer literacy from working as a digital presence strategist. As a Louisiana native, she is a die-hard Saints and LSU fan, and looks forward to winning fantasy football for the second year. When she’s not working you can find her by the river, especially in Louisiana’s brutally hot summers.

He is a graduate of St. Paul’s High School as well as Louisiana State University. While at LSU Nick earned a B.A. in Geography with a Minor in Geographic Information Systems. Like most Louisiana natives Nick is a fan of both the LSU Fighting Tigers and the New Orleans Saints. Nick is a sports fan in general and enjoys listening to ESPN Radio. His favorite ESPN Radio host is Ryen Russsillo. Outside of sports Nick enjoys cooking, movies, and watching live music.

Denise Mitchell is a lifelong resident of Louisiana. Customer service and data entry were a strong part of every job she held. Her greatest accomplishments in life are her two children and beating breast cancer. Denise's motto is “you really CAN teach an old dog new tricks” which brings her to say that she is a “jack of all trades but a master of none”. In her spare time, (what spare time?) Denise likes hanging with the hubby, family and my three dogs. She also enjoys cooking for others.

Producing a successful tradeshow is akin to producing a movie or TV show. Both require someone behind the scenes who can juggle a million tasks while managing a multi-million dollar budget. No one knows this better than Melissa, who has worked in both industries. Seven years as a Production Manager in film and television followed by eight on the tradeshow circuit working in various capacities make her one of the best Project Managers in the business. She truly enjoys building relationships with her clients and doing whatever it takes to get the job done. Melissa, who attended LSU for three years before graduating from the University of New Orleans, applies the same tenacity to her personal life. She loves to travel, snowboard and hang out with her five nieces. An avid runner, she has completed 3 half marathons and a sprint triathlon!

Kelly Johnson brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to ATS. Kelly has her bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Winona State University (Minnesota),several years of tradeshow/event experience and is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP). She knows what it takes to plan and execute successful events. Kelly hails from Kenosha, Wisconsin and is a recent transplant to New Orleans, LA. Her outgoing personality and sense of humor make her fun to work with. Kelly enjoys traveling, football, and exploring the many treasures New Orleans has to offer. She loves spending time with her family and husband and adores her Miniature Poodle, Duke. Much to the chagrin of her co-workers and husband, Kelly is a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan. Thankfully, the New Orleans Saints also have a special place in her heart.

Heather describes herself as a Project Manager that loves IT. Raising two daughters in Covington, LA has given her the unique temperament to see solutions in the middle of chaotic situations. Being on the “Geek Spectrum” gives her the unique ability to dissecting problems, reviewing solutions, negotiating agreements, implementing technology, training and supporting end users. Experience as a sales professional, account manager, and trainer of non-technical staff in a digital environment has developed the reflexes to overcome obstacles with a smile on her face. When she’s not living the “Pug Life” with her two dogs, Heather enjoys exploring urban landscapes to discover and photograph street art, developing healthy recipes for indulgent dishes, hiking, camping and kayaking in various destinations.

Jessica came to ATS with over 9 years’ experience in the hospitality industry. She found her niche in event management and loves every minute of it. Graduated from University of New Orleans with a BA in Hospitality Management. She also received her culinary arts degree at the Louisiana Culinary Institute. When she is not planning events, she likes to try different restaurants in the city as well as going to go see some live music on Frenchmen. Her favorite times in New Orleans are when the Saints & Pelicans play and being able to go to Jazz Fest every year. She is very proud to call New Orleans Home.

A Louisiana native, Wendy loves the state's rich culture, traveling to festivals with her husband and son to sample jambalaya and two-step to live Zydeco music. Her favorite New Orleans restaurant? As Lead Programmer, Keith LeBlanc has been instrumental in establishing ATS’ reputation as the leader in state-of-the-art registration and lead retrieval software and products. With ATS since 2001 after eight years in the U.S. Army, he is a great motivator who enjoys collaborating with his team of skilled programmers. Keith is a big fan of baseball and SciFi, and can run if chased. He is married to ATS Accounting Director Karen LeBlanc, adding literal credence to the ATS “one big happy family” environment.

Liz Strickland

Liz Strickland brings over 20 years of customer friendly programming experience to ATS. Her career spans a diverse range of industries including airport systems, nuclear power plants, telecommunications, human resources, and many others. Throughout her career she has demonstrated expertise in developing unique solutions to fit customer needs. By working directly with customers she insures that software solutions exceed expectations. Liz is also the reigning state Senior Olympic champion in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles table tennis, a sport in which she engages 3 to 4 times a week. In addition to table tennis Liz also enjoys the sport of scuba diving and was actually an instructor for 4 years. If you have a chance to corner her, she will be more than happy to share some of her underwater pictures and stories.

Having a knack for programming, he was promoted to Programmer from within. Kevin spent five years Active Duty Navy. This has given him the drive and motivation needed to give excellent service in all aspects. Kevin is married with six children. He was born in Slidell, LA and has lived in Pearl River, LA for the majority of his life. For fun, Kevin enjoys many aspects of life to include taking his family out to many different activities, folk-style wrestling, table-tennis, pickleball, tabletop RPGs and video games.

After ten solid years in the convention industry as a Show Coordinator, Mike Truesdell knows the ins and outs of pulling off a successful event. As he says, “I thrive in the hustle and bustle of coordinating a show.” Mike has lived in New Orleans his entire life, even graduating from Loyola University with a B.A. in Political Science. As expected, he is a huge Saints fan, but roots for the Chicago Cubs during baseball season. When not enjoying one of the many cities he regularly travels to when working a show, Mike spends time with his wife and two children, taking in the New Orleans’s cultural and music festivals.

John Gorumba brings many talents to his position as Director of On-Site Services . After six years as an Audio/Visual tech in the hotel and convention industry, John can seamlessly work with both show and hotel staff to overcome any issues that might arise. Add to that the very cool skills he learned while attending the University of New Orleans Film School, both directing and producing special effects for small budget movies, and as a Scenic Artist at Six Flags New Orleans designing a Haunted House, and he is a master at creating custom A/V productions for ATS’ diverse clientele. Born and raised in New Orleans, John is a graduate of Southeastern University in Hammond, LA. He loves the travel that comes with his job. When not on the road, his two children keep him busy “learning to be a father.”

Andrew Bautista is a Louisiana native who attended Holy Cross high school in New Orleans and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science degree in Entertainment Industry with a Management emphasis. Andrew brings great energy and responsibility to the tech department. Andrew is a fan of the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans. Ahmad Oliver is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems. Before working for ATS, Ahmad was an audio visual and computer technician at the New Orleans Convention Center. As a New Orleans native, he is very passionate about his New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans. When not on the road you can find Ahmad in the stands cheering for his favorite teams or volunteering for different festivals and events throughout the city of New Orleans.
